Astronauts
I was honored to meet these genuine American Heroes and to spend some time with them and listen to their story's. They risked their lives not for glory , but for the challenge, and their county's pride. As I spoke with each one I noticed how approachable, mentally sharp and friendly they all were. They were willing to answer your thoughtful questions and shake your hand. Most were by themselves and others had assistants. My photos with the astronauts were all taken by their assistants. They all had signs stating their fees from $95 to $400. My time with these men I saw none charging for a photo taken with them. These photos were taken during the Spacefest IV Convention in Tucson, Arizona on June 01.2012.

Jack Lousma was picked as a NASA Apollo astronaut in 1966. He was assigned to Apollo 20, but the program was cancelled at Apollo 17. He was subsequently assigned to the second 3-man Skylab crew, commanded by Alan Bean, spending 59 days in space.
Nearly ten years later, he was named as commander of the STS-3, the third test flight of the space shuttle Columbia. He made the only shuttle landing at backup site White Sands, New Mexico during a vicious dust storm. He is married to his wife of 52 years, Gratia.
