The Saguaro Cactus after the flowering have ruby red fruit that ripen in June and splits open when ripe. The fruit are highly edible. The flowers are self incompatible thus require cross pollination.
Saguaros in drier Western Arizona grow only half as fast as those in and around Tucson, Arizona.
